Basic intuitionistic principles in fuzzy set theories and its extensions (A terminological debate on Atanassov IFS)

چکیده
In this paper we contribute to the terminological debate about Atanassov’s use of the term “Intuitionistic” in defining his structure based on orthopairs of fuzzy sets. In particular we stress that it is defined as “intuitionistic” a negation which from one side does not satisfy a standard property of the intuitionistic Brouwer negation (contradiction law) and on the contrary asserts some principles rejected by intuitionism (strong double negation law and one of the de Morgan laws). An algebraic Brouwer negation is studied in the context of IFS showing that it can be induced from a Heyting implication. A similar situation occurs in the case of standard Fuzzy Sets (FS). Some conditions which allow one to distinguish from the algebraic point of view FS from IFS are treated. Finally, a particular subclass of IFS consisting of orthopairs of crisp sets (denoted by ICS) is studied, showing that shadowed sets can be algebraically identified with ICSs.

Soft Computing Based on a Modified MCDM Approach under Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets
The current study set to extend a new VIKOR method as a compromise ranking approach to solve multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems through intuitionistic fuzzy analysis. Using compromise method in MCDM problems contributes to the selection of an alternative as close as possible to the positive ideal solution and far away from the negative ideal solution, concurrently. Using Atanasso...
متن کاملA New Uncertain Modeling of Production Project Time and Cost Based on Atanassov Fuzzy Sets
Uncertainty plays a major role in any project evaluation and management process. One of the trickiest parts of any production project work is its cost and time forecasting. Since in the initial phases of production projects uncertainty is at its highest level, a reliable method of project scheduling and cash flow generation is vital to help the managers reach successful implementation of the ...
متن کاملAnswer to D. Dubois, S. Gottwald, P. Hajek, J. Kacprzyk and H. Prade's paper "Terminological difficulties in fuzzy set theory - the case of "Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets"
This note points out a terminological clash between Atanassov's “intuitionistic fuzzy sets” and what is currently understood as intuitionistic logic. They differ both by their motivations and their underlying mathematical structure. Furthermore, Atanassov's construct is isomorphic to interval-valued fuzzy sets and other similar notions, even if their interpretive settings and motivation are qui...
متن کاملMulti-Fuzzy Extensions of Functions
We proposed the theory of multi-fuzzy sets [Sabu and Ramakrishnan (2010a), (2011a)] as an extension of theories of fuzzy sets, L-fuzzy sets [Goguen (1967)] and intuitionistic fuzzy sets [Atanassov (1986)]. Theory of multi-fuzzy sets deals with multi-level fuzziness and multi-dimensional fuzziness. Our previous papers discussed the basic notions of multi-fuzzy sets, multi-fuzzy topology, and mul...
متن کاملOn Neutrosophic Sets and Topology
Recently, F.Smarandache generalized the Atanassovs intuitionistic fuzzy sets and other kinds of sets to neutrosophic sets. Also, this author de ned the notion of neutrosophic topology on the non-standard interval. One can expect some relation between the intuitionistic fuzzy topology on an IFS and the neutrosophic topology. We show in this work that this is false.
